Lingo returns to ITV for its fourth series with new 'winner stays on' addition to the format

ITV1’s hit daytime quiz show, Lingo, is set to return for a fourth series (30x60) with fan-favourite Adil Ray OBE back as host.

Since its launch in 2021, Lingo has captivated audiences nationwide as they tune in every day to watch contestants battle it out to complete Lingos and decipher puzzlewords in an attempt to win the £15,000 jackpot. The fast-paced nature of the game combined with Adil’s natural charm and wit, provides the perfect balance for both contestants and those playing along at home.

Brand new to this fourth series, is the addition of a ‘winner stays on’ format. From next year, contestants will get the chance to compete in more than one episode and prove they know their Lingo. Any team that gets to the final round is guaranteed a place on the following episode giving them the opportunity to accumulate a larger prize pot throughout the series.

The most recent series, which aired in January 2023, averaged 1.1 million viewers.

Adil Ray said, “I’m chuffed to be hosting another series of Lingo! It has become such a special show for young and old and a real test of who can shout at the telly the loudest! To everyone watching and all the team who make the show! T_ _ _ _ you! “

Triple Brew’s Ben Shephard and Ed De Burgh said "Lingo’s addictive format combined with the brilliance of Adil Ray has made it a staple of ITV1’s daytime schedule. It’s brilliant to see how much viewers enjoy it and, with contestants now having the opportunity to appear on more than one episode, the stakes are higher than ever! We can’t wait to start filming.”

The fourth series will start filming this Summer and will air in 2024. The third series of Lingo will continue with new episodes on ITV1 this autumn.
