Doorbell Detectives returns for a second series as Purple receives triple nod from RTS North West

Hit daytime show Doorbell Detectives will return to BBC One in 2026 for a second, extended run of 12x30. The series has also been shortlisted for Best Daytime Programme in the 2025 RTS North West Awards.
Following the success of the first series which launched in June 2025, with an impressive average of 1.2 million viewers across its five-episode run, Matt Allwright, is back to teach the nation more tips and tricks to deter thieves and continue their doorstep fight against crime.
With doorbell footage at the front and centre of the series, Doorbell Detectives harnesses the growing trend among communities to work together in sharing footage in order to find and convict local criminals. Including gobsmacking and heartbreaking personal stories from homeowners across the UK, Matt Allwright and former Inspector, Anton show first-hand how the rise in this popular technology can lead to real differences in deterring crime.
The RTS NW Daytime nomination in one of three secured by the All3Media owned Objective Media Group Manchester label. Their Channel 4 two-part series, fronted by Joe Swash, Meal Deals: Behind the Bargain is also nominated in the Best Factual Entertainment category alongside the second series of Millionaire Hoarders for Channel 4.

Doorbell Detectives will be presented by Matt Allwright, and is made by Purple Productions based in Manchester, part of Objective Media Group, an All3Media company. It has been commissioned for 12x30 episodes by Rob Unsworth Head of BBC Daytime and Early Peak Commissioning, the Commissioning Editor for BBC Daytime is Helen Munson. It’s Executive Producers for Purple are Pam Cavannagh and Dympna Jackson.
